Barcelona: public lighting and green energy
Edison Next supports Barcelona on its path towards a more sustainable, safe and intelligent city. Through the renewal, management and maintenance of public lighting, the company is bringing new light to key districts such as Ciutat Vella, Eixample and Sants‑Montjuïc, improving safety, efficiency and highlighting the city's historical heritage.
Additionally, Edison Next has installed photovoltaic systems in the port’s PIF area, dedicated to freight and cruise activity, enabling green electricity self‑consumption, reducing emissions and stabilising energy costs.
A roadmap for decarbonisation: Pascual Group
A leading Spanish food and beverage group has chosen Edison NEXT to build and execute a tailored decarbonisation roadmap. The goal is to reduce emissions from its multiproduct plant in Aranda de Duero (Burgos) and its milk and dairy packaging plant in Gurb (Barcelona), through investments in energy efficiency, renewable technologies and circular economy solutions.
Edison Next in the Healthcare Sector
Edison Next has carried out an energy‑digitalisation project across a wide network of healthcare centres in Spain, with the aim of improving efficiency, reducing consumption and advancing towards more sustainable hospital environments. The initiative consists of deploying an advanced monitoring and control system that integrates thousands of measurement points and a BMS capable of collecting and analysing real‑time data on energy consumption, HVAC, lighting and other critical parameters. This information enables the optimisation of facility operations, ensures appropriate conditions for patients and professionals, and reduces the environmental impact of healthcare activity.
Digitalisation allows for more precise management of temperature, humidity and other essential factors, improving comfort and air quality across areas with very different requirements. In addition, the project has benefited from the Energy Savings Certificates (CAEs) mechanism, whose monetisation helps reduce the required investment and supports the adoption of efficiency solutions in the healthcare sector.
